There are many toll agencies in Florida and each one manages payment collections for vehicles passing through their toll roads separately. If you or someone driving your vehicle, drove through a toll without or with an under-funded SunPass or ePass account, the toll agency will attempt to collect the toll by mailing a bill to the registered owner's address on file with the DMV. If weeks go by with the toll remaining unpaid, the toll agency will place a hold or stop on the registration which prevents the vehicle owner from renewing their registation or being able to obtain a replacement. To check the status of a Florida registration stop on your vehicle, simply enter your VIN here. You can find your VIN on your current registration or insurance card.
You must pay the toll fees before your registration can be renewed or before a replacement is issued by contacting the relevant toll authority:

Please note, that you may have holds on your registration from multiple toll agencies.
Once the toll payment(s) is made, it takes about 2-3 business days for the registration stop or hold to be lifted from your registration. You can check the status of the hold by once again entering your VIN here and then re-submitting your existing eTags order or placing a new order once you see the hold removed.
You don’t need to send us a copy of your toll payment receipt but, if you need to renew your registration or get your replacement immediately, you can take your toll payment receipt to your local tag or Tax Collector’s Office to renew instantly, thus not having to wait the 2-3 business days.
